An unexpected visitor is also turning up. The long awaited dump in the Alps looks set to arrive on Wednesday and set to stay through to the weekend. While this is great news for all the powder hungry shredders around Europe, it obviously creates some technical difficulties for the planed Wängl Tängl snowboard contest window scheduled from Wednesday 16th to Friday 18th of March.

In living with the motto of the event, "It’s on when it’s on…" the event Direction has made the call, "It’s on - but slightly earlier than anticipated!" After consulting with all riders, teams and Team Captains, judges and TV Crew, an additional day has been added to the scheduled Contest window, with the Gang Jam expected to start on Tuesday the 15th extending to Friday the 18th of March. While waiting for weather windows, photo sessions, rail line and Red Bull End Sections will be on, with high possibility of powder lines.

The Wängl Skate program launches on Tuesday, with the ramp open to the public by 10am building up to the evening’s highlight. Starting at 8pm with a who’s who stomp-a-thon Best-Trick session taking on different features on the Mega-mini ramp. Included in this session is a chance to qualify for the last remaining open slot for the Wednesday night ‘s Skate Tag-Team Battle starting at 7:30.

The Wängl Club Room hosting Tuesday’s ‘RUN VIE NIGHT’ featuring DJ Buzz and his new piece, ‘Cosmic War Of The Planets’, together with Dorian Concept, The Clonius, The Twintowas and DJ Chris Fader. Follwing Wednesdays Skate Tag Team finals is the ‘YES WE JAM NIGHT’ featuring Da Staummtisch, Hillbilly Soldiers, Mischgeschik and Producer-Showcase with Abby Lee Tee, Kalifornia Kurt, Feux and Flip live and on stage.  Thursday it hosts the Rhythm ‘Give a Trunk’ Art Gallery and Auction at the ‘OPTICAL NIGHT’ featuring Scott Sullivan & The Ruff Pack raising money for the Broken Bird Foundation, with special attention to rescuing injured Birds of Prey in the Zillertal.

Friday afternoon culminates the week with the Gang Jam contest window closing and the ‘FINAL FUNK OFF’ party approaching. Warming up the final night is a street party in front of the Penken Bahn in downtown Mayrhofen, before big guns hit the stage to close it out for the Wängl Tängl 2011 featuring Texta, Edo G, S.K. Invitational, Akrobatik & Mr Lif and special guests live on stage!
